Muscle Car Research is proud to offer a brand new, accurate reproduction of the C7ZZ-6540427-A rear license plate lamp shield used on the following vehicles:
- 1967 and 1968 Ford Mustang
- 1967 and 1968 Shelby Mustang
Unlike other reproductions, our part is made from the same rough, fiber-reinforced masticated rubber material that Ford used to produce the original C7ZZ-6540427-A shield. Here's a close up shot of the material texture:
Please check out our C7ZZ-6540427-A Rear License Plate Lamp Shield (Economy Reproduction) if you need a less expensive, functional reproduction. It's interesting to note that this part appears in "early" editions of Ford's Master Parts Catalog (it's listed in my February 1970 edition, for example), but it's not included in the final 1965 - 1972 edition that was printed in 1975. The original part appears to have gone obsolete from Ford before the 1975 edition was printed. As such, it doesn't usually appear in illustrations or other literature that references the later catalog. A similar shield used on 1969 and 1970 Mustangs can be seen in this illustration from the Ford Master Parts Catalog:
